For hundred years, Peking University School of Economics witnessed the birth and continuous development of modern economics with important academic status and influence. Peking University School of Economics with a lot of masters, generations of talents and outstanding contributions, is not only the yearning place for numerous students, but also the ideal place to exploit talent for famous professors, experts and scholars, and young researchers interested in economics teaching and research. Recently, Professor Chen Zhiwu applied for the position as our distinguished professor. At the same time three young teachers of Hao Yu, Shi Ju and Anthony James Howell also joined our teacher team.

      Chen Zhiwu, professor of financial economics in Yale University , got a doctorate of financial economics from Yale University in 1990. From 1990 to 1995, he was the teacher in university of Wisconsin , and the teacher in Ohio State University from 1995 to 1999. In China , he was the former distinguished professor of Peking University Guanghua School of Management and Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management. Professor Chen`s research fields are: financial economics, financial sociology, regulations and market supervision, capital market, asset pricing and investment management, finance and culture, financial and economic history, etc. For the last years, Professor Chen`s research mainly focused on the market development in the course of economic transformation in China and other emerging capital market issues, and the changes of the world economy, culture and the financial markets and so on. Professor Chen Zhiwu won the Top Graham and Dodd Award for 2013 Best Paper, Merton miller research award, research award of Chicago Board Options Exchange and many other awards. His book of “logic of finance” won 23 awards of year best book.

      Hao Yu, doctor of economics, graduated from University of California , Davis in 2013. He started his study of economics from July, 2002, and received his bachelor degree of economics from Peking University Guanghua School of management in July 2006. He completed his master degree in University of California , St Diego in June 2008. His major research fields are economic history, development economics and political economics.

      Shi Ju, Doctor of Economics, graduated from University of Boston in 2013. She took her undergraduate and graduate education in Tsinghua University from 2002 to 2008 and received bachelor and master degrees. She engaged in postdoctoral research in Harvard University Medical School , health care policy department from June 2013 to July 2014. The major research fields of Dr. Shi are: health economics, industrial organizational theory, and labor economics. Her research of health system of US and China was highly appreciated in the field, and she has published several academic papers in the top international journals.

      Anthony James Howell (Hao Huatian , US ), doctor of geography, graduated from University of California , Los Angeles in July 2014. From 2002 to 2009, Anthony James Howell received bachelor of international studies, bachelor of politics, bachelor of Chinese language and culture studies, and master of geography in Michigan State University . He also received master of statistics from University of California , Los Angeles in 2012. His major research fields are civil economic geography, human population statistics with company, trading, local and global development, policy analysis, geographic information system, and statistics and spatial analysis. Anthony James Howell is good at Chinese. It will be useful for his teaching and research work.
