On June 22-25, the 50th annual meeting of International Insurance Society was held in London , UK . More than 400 business executives, regulators and scholars from more than 50 countries and regions attended the annual meeting. The theme of this annual meeting is: "the influence of science and technology in insurance industry". Around this theme, many forums are set up: "global leaders forum",” life insurance industry in the era of rapidly changing science and technology", " insurance industry talent strategy in the era of big data", "how to manage the reputation risk", "global reinsurance leaders forum: the importance of alternative capital" and "how to deal with massive network risk and threat", "new game rule: the important role of financial system in disaster-risk integration and post-disaster reconstruction” etc. Professor Sun Qixiang was the chair of the forum of “insurance industry talent strategy in the era of big data". The 50th annual meeting also held the special round-table conference with the theme of “disaster risk and post-disaster reconstruction". Britain crown prince Charles attended the meeting and delivered a keynote speech. The senior executives, , experts and scholars from British royal society, the world bank, the British Lloyd`s, United Nations disaster mitigation committee, America reinsurance group, the world economy forum, Peking University and other institutions attended the round-table meeting. Professor Sun Qixiang attended the special round-table conference and gave opinions as the only representative of Asia .

      During the meeting, there was a grand ceremony party. Professor Sun Qixiang received “John Bickley Founder’s Award”. Professor John Bickley’s daughter, Mary Bickley was invited and attended the ceremony. She affectionately reviewed the 50 years of development of the international insurance society, founded by her father Professor Bickley 50 years ago. She personally adorned Professor Sun Qixiang with the medal. The committee chairman Bermhard Fink said in the award word: “the work and leadership of professor Sun not only affects the theory and practice of China `s insurance, but also bring the impact to all over the world. She has made an important contribution to the reform and development of China `s insurance industry, who is also an important adviser and brain truster for policy makers.
