The “Hundred Dean’s Forum: Seventy Years Applied Economics" was successfully held at SEPKU

  On December 8th, 2019, SEPKU successfully held the“Hundred Dean’s Forum”: Seventy Years Applied Economics. In retrospect, China has achieved great accomplishments in applied economic construction, disciplinary development, and talent cultivation. 

  

  The forum

  The distinguished guests included Ouyang Weiming, Deputy Chairman of China Development Bank Council, Liu Hualong, Chairman, Executive Director of the CRRC, Zhou Qiang, Chairman of China National Aviation Fuel Group Limited, Hong Qi, Chairman of China Minsheng Bank, Guo Zining, Executive Director of China Aoyuan Group Limited, Wu Xianhong, Chairman of the Verakin, Professor Yu Hongjun, Deputy Chairman of Peking University Council and Director of Division of Economics and Management, and 158 deans from 136 economic schools. The forum consisted of the opening ceremony, keynote speeches, panel forums, eight sub-forums, and the closing ceremony. The opening ceremony was chaired by Professor Zhang Hui, Deputy Dean and Chairman of the Academic Board of SEPKU.

  To begin, Professor Dong Zhiyong, Dean of SEPKU, made opening remarks.

  The panel forum “China's Economic Achievements over the Past 70 Years and the Grand Prospect in the New Era” was presided by Associate Researcher Cui Jianhua, Deputy Chaiman of SEPKU Council. Liu Hualong, Zhou Qiang, Hong Qi, Professor Sun Qixiang, Former Dean of SEPKU, Professor Yang Ruilong, Former Dean of School of Economics, Renmin University of China, Guo Zining, and Wu Xianhong held a heated discussion.

  Professor Suo Lingyan, Deputy Dean of SEPKU, presided the panel forum “China’s Disciplinary Construction and Talent Cultivation of Applied Economics over the Past 70 Years”. Professor Zhang Zhong Xiang, Dean of Ma Yinchu School of Economics, Tianjin University, Professor Gan Li, Dean of Research Institute of Economics and Management, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Professor Xu Helian, Dean of School of Economics & Trade, Hunan University, Professor Kou Zonglai, Deputy Dean of School of Economics, Fudan University, Professor Zhang Jianhua, Dean of School of Economics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Chen Binkai, Dean of School of Economics, Central University of Finance and Economics, Professor Fan Ying, Dean of School of Economics and Management, Beihang University, and Professor Hong Junjie, Dean of School of International Trade and Economics, University of International Business and Economics, shared their constructive suggestions.

  Professor Qin Xuezheng, Deputy Dean of SEPKU, chaired the panel forum “China’s Applied Economics on Regional Development”. Professor Ma Hongmei, Deputy Dean of School of Economics, Guizhou University, Professor Sun Jingbin, Dean of School of Economics and Management, Xinjiang University, Professor Qi Yingfei, Dean of School of Economics, Dongbei University of Finance & Economics, Professor Du Fenglian, Dean of School of Economics and Management, Inner Mongolia University, Professor Wu Zhenlei, Dean of School of Economics & Management, Northwest University, Professor Li Shijie, Dean of School of Economics, Hainan University, Professor Yang Guotao, School of Economics and Management, Ningxia University, Professor Luo Hang, Dean of School of Economics, Xihua University, and Professor Liang Shuanglu, Dean of School of Economics, Yunnan University, presented their ideas.

  On the afternoon of December 8th, eight sub-forums took place, namely, “China's Economic Achievements and Theoretical Conclusions over the Past 70 Years” hosted by Professor Su Bin, Dean of School of Economics, Xinjiang University of Finance & Economics, and Professor Zhang Jingquan, Deputy Dean of School of Northeast Asia Studies, Shandong University; “Economic Teaching, Research, and Social Development” hosted by Professor Liu Liya, Chairman of School of Finance, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics Council, and Professor Li Xihui, Dean of School of Management, Minzu University of China; “Cultivation of Qualified Economic Constructors and Successors for the Socialist Cause” hosted by Professor Yao Yang, Dean of National School of Development, Peking University, and Professor Huang Baofeng, Dean of School of Economics, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications; “Economic Faculty Development in the New Era” hosted by Professor Zhu Xiaoneng, Deputy Dean of School of Finance, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Professor Zhang Liguo, Dean of School of Economics, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics; “How to Improve Economic Disciplinary Quality in the New Era” hosted by Professor Li Chenhua, Dean of School of Economics, Nanjing Audit University, and Professor Xu Dandan, Dean of Graduate School, Beijing Technology and Business University; “How to Promote Economic Educational Reform and Innovation in the New Era” hosted by Professor Li Xiaoping, Dean of School of Economics, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and Professor Jin Xiangrong, Dean of Business School of Ningbo University; “How to Cultivate Economic Comprehensive Applied Talents with Innovative Spirits” hosted by Zhang Shiwei, Chairman of School of Economics and Management, Inner Mongolia University Council, and Professor Yu Minggui, Dean of School of Finance, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law; “Economics Serving to Achieve the Chinese Nation’s Bright Prospect on the Road to Revival” hosted by Professor Ni Guohua, Dean of School of Economics, Beijing Technology and Business University, and Professor Song Bingtao, Dean of School of Economics, Henan University. 

  Hosts of each sub-forum making summary reports

  Hosts of each sub-forum made summary reports in the closing ceremony. Then, Cui Jianhua, read out “China’s Seventy Years Economics--Proposal for the Hundred Dean’s Forum”. Lastly, Professor Zhang Hui delivered closing remarks to celebrate the success of the forum.
