Tong Yu is an assistant professor of finance and insurance at the University of Rhode Island. He received his Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina in 2001. His research interests include pension management and investment, mutual fund performance, fixed income analysis, catastrophic risk management, and corporate finance. His works appear in the Journal of Risk and Insurance and Journal of Insurance Issue. He received a number of research awards including the Shin Award of Research Excellence from the International Insurance Society and the Best Paper Award from the Journal of Insurance Issues. Tong Yu was a pension consultant of KPMG Peat Marwick and an underwriter and claim adjuster with the China Pacific Insurance Company.
