陈硕，复旦大学经济系教授，研究兴趣主要集中于发展经济学、政治经济学、经济史及中国经济。陈硕教授的中文成果发表在《经济研究》、《金融研究》、《管理世界》、《世界经济》、《经济学季刊》、《统计研究》等多个国内权威期刊上，英文成果发表在 American Economic Review、American Political Science Review、American Review of Public Administration、American Economic Journal、Journal of Public Economics、Journal of Economic Growth、Journal of Development Economics、Journal of Corporate Finance、Journal of International Business Studies等期刊上。除此之外，他还有六本专著和一本译著。目前主持国家自然科学基金重点、面上及青年项目，以及省部级课题及重大课题。
摘要：
The hero, embodying a series of virtues such as altruism, pioneering and loyalty, serves as a central theme in historical narratives and a tool the state is keen to leverage to reduce transaction costs, foster collective actions and facilitate consensus. Yet research on how states generate, shape, and even manipulate heroic narratives has predominantly been case-driven, lacking systematic quantitative analysis. We examine the effect of the rise of the state on the dynamics of heroic narratives using a Difference-in-Differences (DID) approach, by exploiting the emergence of China's first state, Erlitou, dating from around 2000 BCE, as an exogenous shock. Using an original dataset for 5000 BCE-500 CE, especially information on 1,983 archaeological sites and 4,030 mythological motifs, we show that loyalistic descriptions in heroic narratives have increased by 90.2% after the rise of state, while other two virtues: altruism and pioneering experience no significant increase, demonstrating the state's taming of folk heroic narratives. We then propose two mechanisms: first, bureaucratic institutions that arose alongside the state developed more specialized bureaucracies to manage narratives. Second, the unified language and education alongside the unification of state extended the influence of heroic narratives across different cultures. This paper enriches the rise of state from the perspective of heroic narratives.

摘要:
This study estimates the effect of peer academic background on college student achievement. High school students in China are required to specialize in either the science or the humanities track, which determines their courses, curriculum, and college major choice. Using administrative data from university undergraduates at a school of economics that enrolls students from both tracks, we show that students perform better in their coursework in the presence of more science roommates who themselves outscore their humanities classmates. Further evidence indicates that the peer science background helps female students adopt positive attitudes toward mathematics and has persistent effects upon graduation.

蒋华安，经济学硕士，CFA、CPA、FRM持证人。曾在社保基金理事会资产配置处任副处长，具有多年资产配置和管理人选择实践经验。2017年加入工银瑞信，现任FOF投资部总经理和多只FOF产品基金经理。曾参与或负责制定全国社保基金战略资产配置方案、战术资产配置计划和每季度的季度执行计划。多次参与境内外委托管理人的遴选，熟悉管理人评选和市场各类公募基金产品。
