摘要:
This lecture examines the evolving relevance of insurance in a world of mounting volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. Drawing on research by the Geneva Association, it traces how fundamental shifts in the risk landscape - from climate change and cyber threats to the erosion of multilateralism - are straining insurability and widening protection gaps. It explores how rising societal expectations are redefining the industry's purpose beyond risk transfer toward broader resilience, before turning to financial inclusion as one of the sharpest expressions of that challenge - drawing on original survey-based evidence from both advanced and emerging economies. The lecture closes with concrete responses: how technology, innovative products, public-private partnerships and targeted policy can unlock insurance's full societal potential.
